Look, I despise President Bush. He should be impeached for his violations of US citizens' rights and his mishandling of the war, Katrina, and much more. But don't gripe about employment numbers when the unemployment rate is lower now than almost any period in the Clinton Presidency. In fact, the last couple of years under President Bush have had better unemployment numbers than most of the 90s did. This information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the way (1st link below)

And where are you getting your approval numbers? I've not seen anything suggesting his rating is *that* low. Mostly I'm seeing low- to mid-30s everywhere I look. I've included a link to pollingreport.com's approval numbers, but other places I've looked show about the same.

Gas prices high? Sure, but surprisingly, I don't blame Bush completely. All the money going to war? Yes. And I'm rather peeved with President Bush for that. National debt has traditionally been an American strength, in a manner of speaking - I wish we could fix it, but that's a long-term change to bring about. Taxes rising? Well, I don't quite know the exact situation on that, but isn't Congress more culpable for the state of taxes? I'm ignorant of how taxes work - all my time has been spent looking into the abuse of the executive branch by President Bush and his cronies, so I've not spent much time learning about taxation.

Ultimately, if you are unhappy with the condition of the country, you can leave, get more involved in politics to try improving it, or spend time contacting your governmental representatives at all levels and air your complaints.

EDIT: Didn't notice the FTP source got cut up. Here it is broken across 2 lines to hopefully not get converted to ellipses. Paste the two lines together to get the BLS annual statistics back to 1970.

Yes, it is human nature to blame the one in charge when bad things happen. Human nature and a sign of ignorance. There are forces behind the President which are playing on the ignorance of the people and have been passing bills and selling out the country from under it's people's noses. We the people need to wake up and learn about this great Country and the pricipals on which it was formed. If every one could just have a hart to hart talk with Pres Bush they would find the he loves this country and is doing all he can. However, these forces of which I speak are clever and continually tying his hands. These forces are in control of the media as well. So don't be so sure of "approval ratings" my friend.

If gas prices were $1.00 a gallon would you give Bush credit for it? No. The reason taxes are rising (if they actually are) is because of the new Democrat controlled Congress, you may have forgotten that Bush LOWERED taxes! Go to realclearpolitics.com and check out Congressional approval ratings.

Believe it or not,President Bush does not run the country all by himself. For all those things you mentioned,we also have Congress to thank. I hardly think the country has been ruined by one man who has been in office for 7 years. Why is he never given credit for anything good that he does?
While I am hardly a Bush fan,not everything is his fault. Although,I do believe it was him that let the air out of my tire last night. It was a conspiracy to keep me from using any gas today.

Rudy G is the logical choice to lead the Republicans into the oblivion that Bush/Cheney made.
