What are the liberal presidential candidates, move on's, and other left wing groups ideas for handling radical and extreme Islamic groups like al queda and others? No knee jerk conservative capitulation comments please (I'm a conservative). I just want to know what the reasonable and responsible left thinks they are going to do about this international "problem" or do they see it as a problem?

Wow, I honestly didn't expect that much denial of the facts. Only a few "reasonable minds" so far; but I don't see how you can talk with folks that are so barbaric as to behead people for poltical gain.

I too am a conservative, but to my understanding libs believe that radical muslims will leave us alone of we leave them alone. They feel that we commit a crime and antaginize them by our presence and actions. The risk to our security (to them) does not outweigh our actions. Their focus is entirely on our actions. Most of your answers will probably dodge the issue and refocus the question on what wrongs we do. Hope that wasn't too knee-jerk.

The solution is law enforcement for the active criminals, and an end to american support for totalitarian dicatorships in the middle east, and the last one, a fair solution to the huge problem of the palestinians, who were supposed to accept the theft of their land and the bulldozing of their homes with a smile.

I propose a single state with full citizenship for israelis and palestinians, perhaps un peacekeepers on the ground for a while. jerusalem should be an international city.

I think that'll do it. Bush's way has only increased the number of terorrists.

Start hiring native speaker translators of Arabic, pay them a decent salary and dont treat them like crap. No excuses for not getting warnings in time then. Thats a start. The next step is to know the actual arguments of these groups and learn the history and culture behind them. Then be honest about the US's role in generating these arguments, and do our best to reduce what it is we are doing that is outside of the freedoms that we are granted WITHIN our own country. and finally assist governments who ask for help in dealing with them, and otherwise mind our own business.

its a hallucination designed to stir up massive stress and freak people out. If all the air force was here during 9/11 instead of on crazy deployments all over this godforsaken world they could have shot those freaks down before they got to the WTC. I say put all the soldiers on US bases and Airforce fly patrols over american airspace instead of enforcing balony no fly zones etc. around the world. If we had our troops patroling our ports and borders I would feel alot more secure!

well from what i understand making war in their backyard isnt a way of making things better but other than that its going to take years of diplomancy cutting funds actually fighting and finding terrorism an isolationistic pov wont help but neither will the hands over the world wont either maybe some tomehawk missles idk but thats not necesarly a problem we could fight it with starting a repore with mainstream islam and discredit extremist islam from within islam and help the healing of the contempt they get from us from our bombing and war-other trade imbargos things

Hmmm. Of course it is a real problem.

The bigger problem, though, are the radical Christian and Zionist groups. They use nuclear arsenals, incendiary bombs, extraordinary rendition and other nefarious means to constantly terrorize and kill thousands of people.

What, if anything, do you conservatives plan to do about them? Or do you see it as a problem?

To solve the Al-Qaeda problem I would close the office of their representative in the CIA building.
