Mine's probably either The Who's "Live at Leeds" or The Rolling Stones "Flashpoint".

Somebody already mentioned the Last Waltz....love that. The ones you mentioned are great as well. I don't know if I'd say this one is my favorite, but I definitely love it. It's Bad Company's What You Hear Is What You Get....AWESOME. Plus, it holds a special place in my heart. It was the first CD I ever bought (I think I was 8 or 9). I loved the song Shooting Star, and it had it on it..so, I got it.

You listen to some of the more popular bands and singers of today and they sound like crap live. They are true musicians when they sound better live than studio recorded...

Oh, and of course Fillmore West....classic.

'Live It Up' - David Johansen.

Tough to find on CD, but oh so worth it.
I have no idea what made me buy this record when it first came out, but I'm glad I did. David Johansen is a performer of such good humor and heart; he puts all of himself into these songs. This set opens with his ferocious medley of the Animals' "We Gotta Get Outta This Place/Don't Bring Me Down/It's My Life". I'd take his version of "Build Me Up Buttercup" over the Foundations any day. His cover of "(Reach Out) I'll Be There" is just as urgent as the Four Tops. And he achieves just the right balance of sadness and rage for "Frenchette" and "Donna". And his humor shines on "Funky But Chic", "Stranded in the Jungle" and "Personality Crisis".

Dead concerts are like potato chips you can't have just one. However, a show that I've been playing lately which has a blasting Terrapin to start the second set is 3-29-85 Nassau Coliseum.
