My question to you is, Why do you continue to stay friends with her if she has always let you down? It sounds like you are a sucker for punishment. Sometimes the good goes out of a friendship that has run it's course. Not every friend is a lifetime friend, many friends one makes in life, are like guideposts on the journey of life, and when they've served their purpose, you move on and remember what you've learned, and keep the memories of the good. But in your case forgetting , may be better, and her constant disrespect for you, is fates way of nudging you to make a change in your life.

.Wow...As I get older I have come to the conclusion that I really only have a few friends and a lot of acquaintances. You can only put up with so much for so long. I believe she continues this behavior because you enable her. Sometimes you have to take a step back and revaluate your friendships.

She is reliably and predictably flaky. That means that you can count on her. If you have been friends with her for fourteen years, she cannot be all bad. I would just learn to accept her shortcomings and make friends with other people that are more trustworthy.

Sometimes friends let us down because they have their own life to worry about.
