I'm using an HP Pavilion a610e CTO (D7223J) that I bought 3 years ago. I just bought a Samsung SyncMaster 226W monitor. The picture is streched and I would like it to work with the native resolution. How do I get this done?

The new LCD sounds like it is a wide screen (16 by 9) model.

Your 3 year old graphics card probably doesn't support it. To be sure, get the latest drivers for your card from the manufacturer's web site, and try to change the resolution again.

If it still can't do it, shop for a better graphics card.

You have to make sure the driver and the monitor can display that high of a resolution. You can only go as high as the lower of the two permit.
