Acceleration is a *change* in velocity. People living on the equator experience a constant velocity, not acceleration.

Everyone and everything at the equator is traveling at the same speed, approx. 1,000 mph. People travel with the Earth because of gravity & friction. Gravity pulls objects in the direction of the Earth's core, and there is sufficient friction between their feet and the ground, so the Earth doesn't go whizzing by underneath them.

They are no longer "accelerating" (meanint to increase in velocity), but they are traveling at a constant speed that matches the Earth.

That should do it for you . . have fun!

Everyone on earth is being accelerated by earth's gravity. If the earth's surface weren't here to keep us still, we would accelerate towards the center at 32 feet per second per second. For proof of this, step off a building.
