6g/12o=12g/24o
12g+24o=$12
6g+12o=$6
If 12 oranges=$6(1/2)
then 6 grapefruit=$6(1/2)
6 grapefruit =$3
1 grapefruit= .50

Since grapefruit are twice as expensive as oranges (6G=12O or 12G=24O), and the answer is only about grapefruit, substitute:
12G + 24O = $12, so 12G+12G=$12, then 24G=$12
Divide to get 1G=$0.5 or 50 cents
Hope this helps!

o = oranges
g = grapefruit
6g = 12o
12g + 24o = 12
g = 12o /6
g = 2o
12(2o) + 24o = 12
24 o + 24o = 12
48 o = 12
oranges = 12/48
oranges = $0,25
g = 2 oranges
g = 2(0.25)
g = $ .50
