For example, in a previous question I was wondering how liberals could possibly justify why ratings for their leaders in the house and the senate are roughly the same and in some cases lower than the "evil" George Bush. Liberals love to push facts when they are in their favor. Had I posted a poll stating the Liberals were blowing Conservatives out of the water, they would have been foaming at the mouth. However in this poll, the FACTS don't reflect their views. They respond by bashing Bush the normal dodging of the question and stating things that make them feel better. So once again, do liberals like facts when they don't reflect their views?

I would say that both Liberal and Conservatives like to only recognize facts that help their cause. Both are guilty of spin and manipulation. Unfortunatley, strong emotion, not logical reasoning is the only way to get anything done in this country.

What a hypocritical, self-serving question. Conservatives hardly ever use facts and when they do they distort, lie, tell half-truths and exaggerate. They instead usually resort to attacking by using character assassination, accusations of lack of patriotism and even treason and use catch phrases such as emboldening the enemy and other nonsense. Their entire political strategy is based on negative characterizations and non-thinking emotion.
Turning to your polls re Congress, the Democrats have accomplished a lot but apparently few people know about it. I think the Democrats need to do some serious public relations work to inform the public of what they are doing. A recent Pew Research poll showed that only 24% of people knew that Congress had passed minimum wage legislation. If Congress doesn’t adequately publicize what it has accomplished in this short time, the news media certainly won’t.
In addition, Congress has to explain to the public the importance of what they’re doing in investigations such as the investigation of the firing of the US attorneys. Most Americans haven’t a clue as to why this is so vital. The propaganda from the White House and from the right is so simplistic and simple to understand that many people believe it. I’m not saying that the Democrats need to necessarily dumb down their message to that extent but they need to boil down complicated issues to easily understood concepts and publicize their efforts.

I think you can say the same thing about both of the political parties. They seem to support what ever supports their agenda. However, liberals seem to have a hard time with reality. I once asked a liberal about the the comments many top democrats were making concerning WMD's in Iraq during the late 90's. It is very well known that Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, and other democrats ranted and raved about the danger Saddam Hussein and his WMD posed to national security. These comments were made several years before Bush took office. So why are they so hard on the President now that no major WMD's were found? They made the exact same claims the Bush Administration made before invading Iraq. Why are they not held accountable? Why are they so quick to be hypocrites? Seems to me, they are still angry about the 2000 elections and have no real interests in making thing better for Americans. I cringe every time one of them says the republicans are for the rich when most of the prominent Democrats are in fact rich. They are for whatever gets them elected. Sad if you ask me.

Would it surprise you to learn that Bush's Republican Administration has pitched and sold the OLD Southern Conservative Democratic Political View?
Why do you think so many BLUE Southerns were willing to vote Red? Bush's Southern Democratic wedge in the party widen the dissension already in the party with the growing Liberal perspective causing the Democratic Conservatives to jump ship and vote Republican.
I'm a Split Party Ticket Voter so my intent is Not to bash. I'd just like us all to look a little closer before we make our next Big Decision.
Old Southern Conservative Democratic stood for:
Cheap labor (import it, under educate, keep the poor poor)
Low-tax tradition of Southern Farmers, Ranchers & Oil Men
Fundamentalist Beliefs intertwined w/Govt
Militarism
Sound Familiar?
Wouldn't you as a Republican like to have your party back?
I can't Split My Vote if you're both on the same side.
Wake UP!
EDIT: Your Party Has Been HI-JACKED. Bush Administration IS THE OLD SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM . BOTH Houses AND THE PRESIDENCY ARE Democratic --- Southern Style.
Get your mind around that fact and do something to help your party besides bash Liberal Democrats. Because that's NOT really helping.
What's the matter, can't grasp something you obviously never knew existed before today? It happens to us all. And this speaks directly to your question.
Your party of choice needs your help.

An individual can only answer for himself (or herself, in my case) - not for an entire group of people.
Personally, I like facts. Facts shape my views - and my views are therefore always changing.
That said - I think it's human nature to glorify & pump up facts that bolster your personal view and shy away from facts that don't - no matter the topic (politics, religion, science, etc). It's not a "liberal" thing - it's a human thing. We all want to be right.

Talk about spin! This is a total mischaracteriszation of most of the answers to your previous question.
And the fact remains that republicans in Congress had the highest negatives and Cheney and Bushs rating are pathetic as you said yourself. Most of the people recognized that REid and Pelosi's rating aren't so hot either

again, check this, a better poll, with more nuanced questions.
Why do you care how Bush compares to dems anyway?
To answer your lead question here, liberals love facts. That is what makes them liberals - the ability to adjust to reality, as opposed to being fundamentalist dogmatists who can't cope with reality. Bush is awful and universally decried for his gross incompetence and apparent evil and you just want to talk poll numbers.
Okay. The rest of us are trying to save this country. What will you tell your grandkids when they say - and what did you do when america faced her greatest domestic challenge ever, gramps?

"People make a grievous error thinking that a list of facts is the truth. Facts are just the bare bones out of which truth is made." -Shelby Foote
I think everyone could be accused of that.

Apparently you didn't bother reading anything beyond the first post..
We the People think "both" parties are full of grade-A BULLSHlT, and do not trust them anymore. Low ratings on all sides doesn't mean one side is better or more liked.
You spin facts just as much as you accuse liberals of doing. You'd do quite well at FOXnews..
