I have these recurrent dreams involving these two guys I knew at different times when I was a teenager. What they have in common is that they both died at an early age, one from a heart problem and the other (I think) from a drug overdose. Why do I keep dreaming about them? Sometimes I think they are trying to contact me, or that we are communicating in some intermediate state. Has anyone else had similar experiences? (I would prefer not to get dismissive replies from atheists or dogmatic replies from Christians--thanks!)

Yeah, I heard the "outing" thing before and I thought of it, and it's quite possible in one or both of those cases. Then again, it's not a mutually exclusive thing. It could be both-- repressed homosexual feelings *and* the dead trying to communicate. This has been going on for many years so if they're trying to warn me of something I don't know what it can be. It seems to be more of a thing where we're trying to come to terms with one another, as if there was stuff that wasn't finished that needs to be, or something like that...

Yeah, both of those guys were significant in my life at different times (the teenage "best friend" thing). One guy I just drifted apart from, and the other guy's feelings I seriously hurt in the way that teenagers do, without thinking. Then a few years later my mother wrote to me to say he'd died. People think he o'd on heroin but no-one seems to know if it was deliberate or an accident. Maybe even he didn't know...There's been a lot of guilt there, so I guess that adds to it...

My grandfather died when I was only eight years old (I am now the mom of six grown children). I was not allowed to go to the wake or funeral, as my parents and grandmother considered me to be too young. I always felt that I never got to say good-bye to him.

A year or two ago, I had a dream that I was in the hospital room with him (he was never in the hospital), and that he was quite perterbed with someone on the phone. Another thing was that the seats in the hospital looked like church pews (which they may have looked like at one time).

I learned when I was in early adulthood that grandpa had left grandma with many debts that she did not even know about. This did not sway me--he was still the first close one to me to die, and I thought of him always. The way he was talking on the phone in the dream made him appear to have fault--something I never remember him showing when I was a child.

What I think about this is that I finally got a chance to say goodbye to my grandfather--and him to me. This may not have been his doing--my mom and grandmother had passed away in the 90s, each knowing of what a bad feeling it was not being allowed to attend the wake and funeral of my grandfather--perhaps one of them set the wheels in motion...

I dream of my mother regularly who died 13 years ago. but that is very different from what you are describing. Can you give any additional details to your question? I wonder what your relationship was with them when they were alive? Is there anything that happened between you that you feel is unresolved? it could be as simple as a petty argument you may have had. Can you provide more details as to how well you knew both these guys, how close you were to them etc.

I agree with Zoey. I had dreams about my mother for about 10 years after she died. She had cancer. It was horrible. I was 15. I think she came back so many times because I needed reassurance that it was okay. I dreamt that she would come back and everything was normal. Or that she had to go, but I shouldn't worry, that she had a purpose, and just keep going to school like I usually do. It was weird. My dog also came to me in a dream and I totally understood her message. She loved me, didn't want to go, but had to and it was okay to let her go, she wanted me to. My pet skunk finally came to me in a dream (he took long enough!!!) and he basically said he loved being held up on my shoulder and he thanked me and that was IT. Hey thanks, see ya! He was a rescue and he wouldn't have lived his five years if someone hadn't taken him in.
So I think they are trying to just give you a message, but it may be hard to figure out. My mom said everything was okay without her. And it has been.

Either they are trying to warn you, in which case you should get your affairs in order.
Or you are experiencing an outing of sorts where you are being forced to acknowledge repressed homosexual feelings you had for these young men.
Which is it?

Many people belive that if you see dead people you know in a dream its really them trying to speak to you. They must either have something important to tell you or want you to know that there ok.
