The best two hotels for families are the Orleans and Excalibur.
The Orleans has everything you could want for a family. Very nice oversize rooms at bargain rates, "Kids Tyme" - 18 screen movie theater, great deals on food, etc.
http://www.orleanscasino.com
http://www.travelworm.com >I checked a couple of days ago and TW had a special going for Orleans. >the rate was $28.80(avg) for Sunday through Thursday< Orleans will price match the best rate you find online for their hotel. http://www.i4vegas.com also has a special for the Orleans. Both run from May 6th - August 30th >Sunday through Thursday< The average rate for the 5 night stay I checked was $28.80(July 15th - 20th)

Excalibur >like "adrixia" said the Fantasy faire midway is great for the kids, and the Tournament of Kings is a very good show for the whole family.

I recommend Excalibur or Luxor. (Your kids will stay free in your room at both of these properties, with existing bedding.)

http://www.luxor.com/
http://www.excalibur.com/

Excalibur is more economical, Luxor is higher quality/pricier.

These two hotels are walking distance to each other as well as to many other kid-friendly attractions:

Excalibur offers free kid's shows on their mezzanine level.
Luxor has a great arcade, virtual reality rides, Imax theatre, and more.
Mandalay Bay offers the Shark Reef.
MGM Grand has the Lion Habitat.
New York New York has a roller coaster.

If you take a day trip up to the northern end of the Strip, you can check out the volcano and Secret Garden at the Mirage, the thrill rides and observation deck at the Stratosphere, the Adventuredome at Circus Circus, and the roller coaster at the Sahara.

Have fun, play safe and wear comfortable shoes!

Here's a map of the Strip to help you plan. For perspective, it is about five miles from Mandalay Bay on the south end to Stratosphere on the north end.

EDIT p.s. MGM Grand no longer has a theme park, btw.... that's looooooooong gone. And if anybody mentions the Water Park on the strip... that's long ggone too =).

Bellagio is nice to see. The fountain shows are just amazing, in the evenings there is a show every 15 minutes. They might like the M&M store next to the MGM Grand. The lion habitat at the MGM is cool. The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage is good too. If you get a chance check out Hoover Dam. Excalibur and Luxor are kid friendly hotels also. Also at night, the light shows at the Fremont Street Experience is very cool too. The Golden Nugget has a new pool/shark tank/waterslide which your kids might like.

New York New York has a roller coaster.. And yes, Circus Circus's adventure dome is good. :) i went there recently for a school field trip. Try local places too.. other than that, not much to do. For cheap bowling, the only place I know is Suncoast (by summerlin) on weekdays after 12. There are also great arcades in Luxor. Also, maybe take them to a museum or something? I hear the one at Tropicana is good.

Excalibur has a HUGE arcade and gaming area for the kids. Also the Knights Jousting show is so much fun for the whole family and you get dinner too. Really worth it, one of my all time favorite Vegas memories from the first time I went there when I was 14......my bro was 12 and we both liked it a lot. We had fun and just walking around and sightseeing is the best thing to do during the day...also rent a car and take a day to go to the Grand Canyon if they have not yet seen it.

Someone mentioned the MGM, but it doesn't have the amusement park anymore. The Excalibur has an indoor carnival with rides, and the Luxor has rides and movies (kind of expensive, though). Mandalay Bay has a water park area if they like swimming all day. Most of Vegas hotels don't cater to kids too much anymore, but here's a link that lists kid-friendly attractions:

maximum Vegas motels would have some areas available for infants, however the suited motels are Circus Circus, Excalibur and MGM. manhattan manhattan has a great teenagers section, too. all of them have very problematic and prolonged areas purely for infants and non-gaming leisure. (Non-gaming = no playing) it may get costly, even nevertheless this is going to grant a secure atmosphere on your infants. touch the Las Vegas Chamber of commerce and that they'll deliver you distinctive training on the Vegas section and issues for families to do and spot.
