Well I have an ATI graphics card on my laptop and this is what I do to rotate the display, so I'm guessing it might be similar for you:
- right-click on the desktop to get the context menu and click properties to the "Display Properties" dialogue. (You can also get here through the Control Panel)
- select the Settings tab
- click the Advanced button
- At this point on my computer another ATI dialogue box comes up with lots of tabs, one of which is labelled "Rotation" from which you can rotate the display. (You can also set keyboard shortcuts to rotate it - maybe this is how you accidently rotated it.) Likely there are some similar settings on your laptop.
