so a nagging woman wont wake us up.

Same reason women stop for directions but men in general don't.
Same reason women use shampoo for their hair & soap for their bods but men in general use soap for both.
Same reason women change their underwear everyday but some men wait till their underwear's beyond getting clean.
Same reason fewer women than men desire to defy death, bundgy jump, race vehicles, wrestle wild animals, explore the the depths & demensions of the unknown, etc.
Same reason women warn men of possible consequences, men ignore them, screw up then women say "I told you so" or "I tried to tell you"
Same reason women try to "pass vapors" quietly & apologize if it isn't but men forcibly f-a-r-t as loud as possible then laugh!
Same reason why women know the WHOLE story when men fail to tell it.
And it was a man who wrote the Bible, failing to tell the whole story about the creation of woman, who was made from 1 of Adams ribs + 2 senses of his brain, thus the reason why men don't have the "2 sense" worth that women have to contribute to EVERYthing!

Like all gender stereotypes, this falls apart under scrutiny.
My mother was always sound asleep on the sofa long long
after Dad had gone to bed.

How significant! I think that the sounds make them fall asleep better and women, like me, need absolute silence.

I'm a woman and I routinely fall asleep in front of the boob tube.
It's isn't that big of a deal to me.

it wouldnt be manly to go tap a nap,,, this way they can say I was just resting my eyes! then say, it wasnt me that went to bed and took a nap! lol

because women like to sleep. i don't know why but they do. and they think they need "beauty rest" and they don't want bags under their eyes
