I am having a real problem trying to write an opening paragraph for my research paper. My thesis statement is that Agent Orange with the use of other defoliants such as napalm helped clear a path for American troops and help to turn the tide of the war. Can someone PLease Help me I can write an opening for the life of me!!!!

Bad position. Agent orange was used pretty much in Vietnam and, since we lost, your tide was NEVER turned.

Agent orange was also used in Columbia and other locales to try to stem the Marijuana and Opium crops.. all that did was put tainted dope in the US market.

The end product was really only a lot of vets and Vietnamese with health problems from exposure to the chemical.

you might want to re-think your thesis statement a bit...

Do some online research entering in those terms. As a personal recipient of this poison when I went to that wonderful country on my senior trip...I can tell you that it was very effective for its purpose, creating an uninhabitable mess which still haunts those who wallowed in it. The use of such defoliants had little effect on the ultimate outcome. Just another failed policy. Peace.
