Moochlet, I think He was probably correct when he smelled something fishy over there in Denmark.
When your Mum marries your Dad's murderer and starts on
what was then considered an incestuous relationship, he must have felt a little piqued.
So he is excused for a few harsh words, but basically Gertrude was a bit of a spoiled creature manipulated by Claudius and I honestly think she didn't have much choice,
and considering the rest of the play I have serious doubts
about Hamlets sanity to begin with.
Old Shaky wrote this round 1600? and he got away with it,
I don't think you will, the times have changed, you'll reap a whirlwind and the Women will gang up on you.
Before they take you to the cleaners, I advise you to take
a refreshing sip from yonder goblet.
Sharp swords....... no more, sharp tongues ?.......hope so!!

"Frailty, Thy Name is Woman" is the Shakespearean quote from Hamlet you are talking about - when Hamlet is railing against Gertrude - his mother - who married his Uncle so quickly after his father - The King's - death. You really need to get your quotes and Shakespeare plays sorted out don't you? This is the second time! hehe j/k edit: I think men and women are equally self centred or conceited depending on the individual and it is simply that women have been conditioned that their beauty rituals are acceptable - expected - and society champions and encourages them. edit #2: @ TheVoice: Narcissus never existed. It is irrelevant to GWS debates that a story was written whereby a man happened to be narcissistic. It has no relevance whatsoever any more than my citing Lady Macbeth as 'evil' reflects on all women. edit#3 KnowItAll: I would have to differ with you on a point: Although at one level Shakespeares plays were written to entertain the masses and the courts - they were constructed so that on deeper study and reflection the plays etc were indeed seen to be deeply philosophical and offered considerable insight into the reality of the human condition albeit through poetry and prose. All great writers are said to use their skills to emphasise aspects of the human condition and serve it up in a way that is pallatable. To Know It All: Understood. Shirley you can't be calling me a thespian? I'm a homosapien to be sure.

TOTALLY wrong.
My name is Sunshine MacGillicutty. I am the lady in Marshal Dillon's life. It took LOTS of gumption to attain this title.....MAN!! I had to wade through Silva,THe Vixen From Vermont, Chola,The Cutie From Chattanoogie, the lovely LadyLinda and of COURSE.....first and foremost, Miss Kitty Russell. FRAIL?.....I think not!! These HUSSIES FROM HOBOKEN were clawers, scratchers and bad mouthers....the first three were dealt with rather quickly. Miss Kitty, on the other hand, was much tougher.....boy oh boy......well, I can't say as I really blame her. After all, she did go with him for 20 years. Anyway, I even wore HER down.
Those wishing to correspond with Miss Russell may do so by writing to the Head Nurse at Hayes City Sanitorium, where she is presently residing. ('Pears she dealt with her heartbreak with MANY bottles of Randy Scouse Git Rotgut.)

I like the name Fraily.
If I had a daughter that's what I'd name her.
My son would be Eragon and carry my sword to battle.
