IT does not take that long i have done it before in 40 mins.
It is so easy cambridge is sign posted al the way!!
but at high peak times it can take up to about an hour and a half. i would say on average about an hour, taking the train is always a good option but can be expensive.

It would take about 2 to 2 to 3 hours if you take it easy on the motorway, or if you drive at the speed limit i think u can make it in 2 hrs. You can go through Stratford-Upon-Avon where Shakespeare lived and if you feel like it, you can go up to Birmingham and see Spaghetti Junction, or you can go down to Bristol (famous Clifton Suspension bridge) and throughh Bath, then down to Stonehenge near Salisbury, then up to the M4 and go straight to London and follow the M25 up the M1 and go up to Cambridge. But all this will take you a good 10 hours driving!! These are the places I know and I've pretty much done this route.

Take the train it takes about an hour.
You can hire a bike anywhere in Cambridge.
Have a nice stay.

That depends markedly on where you are in London, and your route to the south end of the M11 or the M25.

I've done it in just over an hour from Bishopsgate, not at rush hour, but West or South London would be more of a problem.
That, or the wrong time of day could double it to two hours, much of it trying to get out of London.

According to Google Maps, it takes 1:25h.
I I were you, I'd add another hour to be on teh safe side, with roadworks, traffic jams which could slow you down.
Even worse if it is during the week, morning/evening time!

I know the train from Kings Cross will take about an hour (depending on if you get the "fast" or slow trains).

Depending on traffic (which can be horrendous) it should be about a similar time once you get moving...if you are caught in traffic....hmmmm anyones guess.
