The House passed a bill that would create two more seats in the House and set one of them up in the District of Colombia. This would allow the U.S. citizens who live in D.C. to have congressional representation. Bobby Jindal voted to not allow these U.S. citizens to have representation in Congress. Why?

The Republican Party has long been opposed to Congressional representation for D.C., primarily because it would be a sure Democratic seat. While the 2nd seat created (in Utah, I believed) would be safely Republican, that would only last until 2012. They see no reason to allow an essentially permanent Democratic seat in return for a few years of a Republican seat.
