As a receptionist, I feel that it puts my job in danger.
Automated answering systems are quickly replacing receptionists.
People seem to think that machines are only replacing industrial and construction jobs, when really, just about ANY job could be replaced by a machine.

Machines are taking the place of jobs that are ONLY very low paying and very dangerous. Such as welding the parts together to make a car. Sparks fly everywhere. A person, no matter how well protected, would keep getting hurt again, and again.

Thank God! Every new machine frees up humans to do something more productive than the repetitive and boring work of a machine!

I don't really feel comfortable about it.
It may be easier in a sense, but that's one less job available for a person that might need it. Machines aren't as reliable or as careful as humans.

All the better. A big lie out there is that people HAVE TO WORK... I say WHY? Why can't machines make our products and our food and people can enjoy life and travel and swim and eat and mate... etc....
Unfortunately capitalists don't like people to not work, because they loose control and power that way... and everyone gets on a more even economical footing.

I think it sucks. One day no one will have a job. I think technology is a wonderful thing, but we also need to keep jobs available for people. Not everyone is a brain scientist, an ordinary people need to work too.

not as badly as I feel about the wave of 'cheap help' that has invaded and trashed our country, coast to coast.
