I think it's sweet, when it's coming from the man who loves me, in an intimate moment, accompanied by a kiss on my nose and a hug........ahhhhh, yesssssss..........

I was raised in the country from TX, and I know 3 Pookies. I have two distant cousins (one on my father's and one on maternal side) and a childhood neighbor. 2 females, 1 male. To me it's more of a chicks nickname, and will always sound country to me. (+ based off the people who had the nickname)

When my sister was little she would wear a white t-shirt that was too big for her and my dad called her "Pook", short for spook. So I'm partial to Pookie

It is ok for a girl but not a boy. It sounds like a name that a man should be calling his girl.

I wouldn't like this nickname. It lacks a certain charisma.
