Not only when new evidence are presented, the supreme court would reverse its decisions. When the court make-up changes, the decisions could be resverse as well. Witness the turning tide of abortion legality with the latest decision on partial birth abortion.

I'm not sure you understand how the court system works. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the USA and it's decisions are final. They are never "called back" or over turned. Each decision the Supreme Court makes is in reference to a specific case, with specific attributes & conditions. The court changes members and the intrepretation of the constitution may vary from year to year. That is why there may be differences in decisons concerning specific issues (abortion, civil rights, the death penalty, etc.) but this is only reflected by the court's new decisions on new cases. Previously decided cases are not reconsidered.

In 1896 The Supreme Court decided in Plessy v Ferguson that African-Americans can be segregated ("separate but equal"). This was a racist decision. In 1954 the Supreme Court reversed its own decision in Brown v Board of Education of Topeka. It banned segregation in schools and other public facilities. Why did the court reverse itself?
Because the society changes and our understanding of morality also changes with time. In the future, for example, any kind of discrimination against gay people will be prohibited because people will understand that discrimination against gays is immoral.

If there was new evidence, or if the situation was slightly different, then the Supreme Court would make a different decision on a case.
