Someone asks you "Oh, you found ___(whatever you were looking for)! Was it in the last place you looked?!"
NO! It was in the third place I looked, but I kept searching and went back! DUH it was in the last place!

I don't think I've ever been asked that, at least not the "last place you looked" part. I've been told to look in the last place I remember seeing the item, which makes sense. Or, I've been asked, "Was it where you left it?" which is kind of silly, but just means, "Was it where you remember putting it?" No, it doesn't bother me; just shows they care!
Oh, and asking "Was it in the last place you looked?" could just mean that it was going to be the last place you would look before giving up, which also wouldn't bother me.

My daughter is famous for that. We are forever finding her little pink razr phone in the bathroom, the last place she would look. She's tossing her room, and her purse, and her schoolbag, never thinking that she was talking to her dad while she was putting her new bath things away, and put the phone down on the counter where the sink is. The last place she would THINK to look in, but the first place Mom looks!

I've recently noticed that yeah...DUH its always in the last place you look.
I think sometimes they do mean you don't expect it to be there and it is the last place you would look but still.
yeah that does kinda bother me.

Its better when they say, where was the last place you saw it?...b/c if you knew that you wouldnt be looking for it.

depends on how is asking that when my mother in law asks yes it annoys the heck out of me but usually others i just ignore them
