You see a question you'd like to answer, but it already has (or you know for sure will have) great answers. Do you still answer it?

Why, or why not?

Thank you for your answer, and have a wonderful day/night! :)

i simply dont see answering questions as a COMPETITION.
i normally answer those that i know, & there is some kind of urgency.
sometimes, there are very good questions that im very much drawn to answer.
some of the questions are common, but normally gets excellent answers. i usually refrain, just give thumbs up to those i think deserve to be commended.
other questions needs factual answers, if i see that someone has given the correcy answer. my help wont be needed anymore.

your question on the other hand is a matter of opinion,
there's no right or wrong answer, or good, better or best.
i suppose my answer is welcome regardless of what other may think about it.

have a wonderful day/night too!

Maybe some people answer so they can then vote themselves as best answer? Some people also like to give the correct answers to an obvious question so they can then point out spelling mistakes or typos in people questions. (strawberries, sense!) And, at the end of the day, answerers get two points for every question answered however obvious and some people just want two points. Some people would tell you the sky is blue and black is black and not white for two points.

Mostly, I don't look at the answers, & I'm usually at the bottom because I spent so much time thinking it out! But there are times, (selective), when I look, & I may find someone has expressed what I would have. I may have something to add, but mention what I felt was a great question. Amazing as it mean seem, I'm not here for points. My reward is having someone get new perspectives, or learn about something of which they hadn't been informed.

If I have what I think is a good answer, sure. I've had plenty of good answers that weren't chosen as the best answer. I answer questions in hope that whatever I write is useful or interesting to someone who reads it. Not for the points. Though it'd be cool to get best answer once just to get rid of that ugly zero.

I read the answers and if someone has a good answer or has already said what I was going to say, I just give it a thumbs up and go onto another question

I rarely read answers before I give mine.
Every answer is unique and I feel adds dimension to the subject.
An answer that YOU like may not ring true for someone else. So get out there Moon and answer all the ones you like. We need your input!
:D

If somebody already said what I was going to say better than I could say it, I don't answer the question. Why? Because I want best answer.

If they've been given the right answer more than once, then I don't give an answer. I just move on to another question.

All the time. Because I want to add my opinion or answer too. I might have a different aspect of the Q's.

yeah...well as you can see there are good answers previous to mine. :-)

With some of the questions I've asked, it can be very hard to choose a best answer cuz so many are good....it's always nice to have extra insight and different perspectives.

I hope to provide some extra insight with my answers.
Have a great day! :-)
