There are racist in all creed, colors, and political stances.
Whites didn't corner the market on evil. Yes, whites enslaved
many africans, and Indians. They commited acts of violence
and seperation.
However, Whites marched with Martin Luther King. They
protected and kept african slaves hidden in the underground
railroad. In Europe, many risked their lives to oppose Hitler
and Stalin. Along with Hindu's and Muslims, They helped
Ghandi in bringing independence for India.
Racism is never justified. It comes out from tradition and
frustration. Sometimes one generation can't render prosperity
to the next, so many look to handing out hate. In North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, The Middle East have had hate for this group or that group.
They all fight a cease battle of economics, war, poverty, disease, religious and tribal hatred. Issues are brought
to the forefront, but nothing really gets resolved. As, a result
the bitterness and frustration heighten. With the result of another generation being born in the mindset of hate.

I'm going to have to disagree and say no.
Racism is about institutional power. By a sociological definition, white people are ALL racist because they are born into a position of power over minorities. Admitting the privledge one is born into does not need to automatically make one defensive. Unfortunately, that is the response nearly all white people have and it prevents any progress toward racial equality from being made.
By the same line of thinking, minorities CANNOT be racist. They can exhibit prejudice or discrimination in certain circumstances but no minority group has the institutional power necessary to create a systematic repression of the rights of whites.
There is no such thing as reverse-discrimination. This is the response of white who feel their own power is being threatened. They feel as if they are losing ground, so they cry reverse discrimination.
Admitting the privledged position in which you find yourself is the first step to doing something that changes the system. It is not a matter of blame or guilt. No one asked to be born a particular race, but we need to recognize the limitations of our social structure and the inherent white/male/upper class privledge that exists within it.

Yes it is. Why think about it altogether???? We are all human beings with the same feeling, and desires. The color of a persons skin has nothing to do with anything.
All races bleed blood when they cut themselves, no matter what color they are!!

I agree. It is intolerant and prejudiced to assume that all people in any give group share views. It usually isn't true.
