How far is the laptop from the wireless router? Have you run the network setup wizard? Are the correct drivers installed for the laptops card?

Make sure that all of the following are correct:

1) Make sure that there is a connection to the wireless router. On your laptop, find a place where there is a good connection. Then get your sister's laptop and put it in that same spot. Check the internet now.

2) Make sure her wireless card is compatible with the wireless network. If her wireless card is 802.11a, and the network is 802.11b, then they can't communicate.

3) Her laptop might be disconnected from the wireless network. Get to a good spot (as in step 1), and then go to Control Panel, and find the network connections. There might be an icon on the corner of the taskbar (near the time) that has to do with wireless networking. Right click it and see if the menu says View avaliable wireless networks (or something like that). Then make sure your network is in the list. If it is, connect to it. Otherwise, it's some other problem.

Good luck!

You need to find out where the connection is breaking.

Is the wireless card working?

Can you see wireless networks with the laptop.?

Are you connecting to the same network with you sister's laptop as you are with yours?

Is there any firewall or content filtering that is different between your sister's and your laptops?

Make sure her wireless card is compatible with your wireless network. If she has a 802.11a and your network is a 802.11b, they won't be compatible. Also, make sure she is using the correct WEP key (if you have one setup) and that she's actually set to connect to your household network and not the closest one her wireless card found (which is a preset made by manufacturing companies).
