it depends on how you feel about coffee. I only like hot coffee from a particular place and iced coffee from another. I think coffee is worth spending the extra money because why would you want to drink something that doesn't taste good when you could spend a couple extra dollars and get something better. plus a simple cup of coffee never costs over $2 anywhere. it's the latte and other things that might cost a little more. but i find that starbucks is more expensive than my little coffee shop around the corner.

Yes, I've noticed that practice too; we're forever being told all the weird and wonderful things we could do for the price of a cup of coffee. I think it's because many people spend money on a cup of coffee each day with very little thought to the value of that money, and how it might be better used.

We have a gourmet coffee shop that you can buy beans. I think it is worth the extra bucks. The beans are fresher, than the pre ground, thus the oil on the bean is in better shape. Plus you can your choice of a flavor. MMM Raspberry chocolate is my favorite.
I don't like starbucks coffee. It's nasty.

I like flavored lattes for a treat, but not everyday, so yes. Kind of like going to an ice cream shop and paying the same amount you would for a gallon of ice cream. Its just better.

Not at all. I learned just cause it costs more doesn't mean it's better. There is some cheap coffee you could make yourself that tastes better and is cheaper

actually at your local grocery store you can get a fairly great cup of coffee as long as you don't mind grinding it yourself.... eight o' clock keeps a consistently good variety of fresh(depending on the store of course) whole bean columbian coffee in stock......
