Absolutely...I have 4 sons in that age range and the thought of them enacting the draft again scares the hell out of me.

I most certainly would not talk them out of it, I would just make sure that they are enlisting for the right reasons. Military service is a very generous thing to do for your country. And if that's what they feel that they need to do, I will support them. I wouldn't want my children going overseas to fight yet having to worry if I am disappointed in them, it's an added distraction that they don't need. And yes, I am a parent.

No. I went into the military when I was 18 years old and it was the best thing that ever happened in my life. I wanted to make a career of it but was injured and not able to continue. It helped me in the real; world, getting a good job when I got out and many other useful things in life. Like self respect, respect for others and your property, and a love for our country which will never die. Allow your child to follow their path and I think you will see great strides made in their life. You should be honored that your child wants to serve their country.

That would depend on the branch, how the country is treating the military (i.e. benefits, pay), and what was going on in the world at the time. My daughter is only 2.

At this time during the war, I would strongly disagree with them going because everytime you turn on the TV, something else has gone wrong, or they don't know when they're going to be home, etc.
Not that I'm saying a war is a stable thing, but I would tell them if they really wanted to do it, wait until it is more under control......

right now yes but if their wasn't a war nop I would enlist him my self. But if I see he is in bad things (drugs) I and he tells me he wants to go right now I would let him go.
