Plane of symmetry – a three-dimensional figure has a plane of symmetry when every point of the figure on one side of the plane has a mirror image on the other side of the plane

Lie groups are also associated with higher-dimensional objects; in three dimensions the sphere obviously gives rise to continuous groups of symmetries, as do other round objects like the CYLINDER or the cone.

There are INFINITELY many different Lie groups and most of them are well-understood, except for a collection of exceptional Lie groups.

Yes I do, and I can spell and punctuate properly too. An infinite number around the axis of the cylinder, plus the one about the central point of the cylinder normal to the axis. Infinity plus one is, er, infinite.

By most the number of planes of symmetry would be called infinite but I prefer undefined
