The plastic end cap on my 2001 S10 Zr2 has cracked right below the upper hose, causing a small leak. Someone told me a 2 part epoxy would be an ideal repair short of replacing the radiator, will this work? and if not, any other suggestions would be welcome

the glue would work if you could seal it from the inside of the radiator, you see, heat will expand the hole and the glue wil not, thus the hole will leak again. take if to a radiator repair shop. they can change the plastic tank. for less then a new radiator

It's only $100 for a new radiator. Epoxy on the outside isn't going to hold under pressure and expansion/contraction. Don't risk toasting the engine.

two part epoxy may work if you clean the radiator good enough. It will only be a short term fix though. Best way to fix it is replace it. I'm sure you can find one on ebay. Try the salvage yard. they sometime have brand new ones with a warranty.

I know this might sound stupid...but a high heat exhaust tape with an epoxy covering might work...but I wouldn't chance put the epoxy straight on the whole. This is a common/expensive problem to fix. But try it...what the worst that could happen.

the entire radiator doesnt need replaced. the side tanks can be replaced if you choose to do that. its a little cheaper.
and also i wouldnt try epoxy. it may hold but the coolant has lubricating properties that probably wouldnt allow it to bond properly.
