He must have had a full name, not just Alexander. What was it?

Given the time in which he lived, surnames weren't in use. His name, Alexander, was given as a description of his character and person.

At that time people did not have names, surnames and IDs like now. In ancient Greece people had a name and then a "son of ..." and maybe an extra to explain where they come from.
So for Alexander it would be something like Alexander the Macedonian son of Phillip, or maybe Alexander king of the Macedonians son of Phillip (after he became king).
I don't think that at that time he was called "the Great" that should have come after he died.

I am amazed that nobody put this information... Anyway, much of the history is twisted by the interest of certain groups (no paranoid)... Today there's tones of books, scripts, scrolls in western Europian countries dating from time B.C. and not many people are interested in reading it...Most of us r satisfied by wikipedia knowledge which is not misleading, but rather short and with many holes in it...Back on the topic, I found many texts that mention Alexandar full and real name... For example in certain books and songs he is called Lesandro Karanovic in the teritory of today Serbia, but not many people know that, in today Greece you can find him called Alexandar Karanidis, wich is just a toponim of the same name, and yes, many of Alexandars contemporaries had full name... Just look for it... Long story short, I cant claim that this is 100% right, just bcs i know how hard people believe to something that is new, especially when it comes to rewriten history...But once i started to dig that **** I found some rly, rly, rly interesting facts about him which I have never heard b4 all referenced by many respected historians and poets who dedicated their life to revealing the true history... I hope this help in some way ^^ peace!

All I've ever heard was "Alexander of Macedon." "The Great" would have been added later. He was also Alexander III (of Macedon). His father was Phillip II of Macedon, so I guess he could have been Alex Phillipson or something like that.
