My wife has violated the standard family law restraining orders by changing ALL of our insurance policies. The divorce papers clearly say that neither one of us are allowed to do this. She has removed my name from all of them and replaced them in her name only. Contempt of court? Should I? She has a lawyer and I dont. I am acting as my own. Shes playing dirty with bogus restraining orders, etc. I'm not a vengfull person, but I am also getting screwed. She has total control over everything we own. I called lawyers and they want a 10k retainer. When I tell them my wife has everything in her control, they say sorry, no cash, no lawyer..Help

You can get a lawyer on $35 a month with Pre-Paid.

As for California law, document everything and bring it into court. If she changed it all AFTER the divorce filing, it is in fact against what the court said. There is a date that you two will appear in court and that is the day you should bring all this forward.

You sound like me in 2004. Here's what you need to do: From the day the divorce papers came, you MUST STOP BEING NICE TO THIS PERSON. You don't cuss or abuse her, but she is obviously the enemy now. She will push you around if you don't stand up. Take the crying glasses off, get a lawyer and defend yourself. Life has changed and you are on your own.

Dude, it appears there are no children involved, give her what she wants and get OUT. You have found out, the lawyers get all the money. Get Cybil to be civil and both get out with some money.
