I just want to comment on the term 'chickenhawk'

One meaning of that word, of course, is a predatory bird that eats other birds, such as domesticated chickens. If neo-cons are Chickenhawks (cowards who are for war), and libs are chickens (cowards who are against war) or doves (outright pacificsts), then they're on the menue, aren't they?

Interestingly, though, the birds commonly called chickenhawks rarely ever attack chickens. I guess it's a speciesist slur. And the chickens and doves are safe.

Another meaning of chickenhawk, is an older gay man who favors twinks (younger gay men). Given the congressional page scandals, this epiphet may not be entirely unjustified.

Then there's the sense you obviously mean Hawk: (pro war politician) + chicken (coward). 'Coward,' in this case simply meaning 'never having served in the military.' The inference being that one who has never served in the military has no business telling the military to go and fight. Of course, I see no reason to limit that inference to the hawk position - the non-military man presumably has just as little business telling the millitary to surrender.

The conclusion, then, would be that only military and ex-military have any business deciding whether and when the nation should go to war.

Now, keeping in mind the looming military-industrial complex, doesn't that sound like a really bad idea? Shouldn't civilian leaders in Congress have some say about the declaration of war? Shouldn't a citizen with no military background be allowed to run for President - even though the President is titular 'Commander in Chief?' (If you answer 'no' to any of these questions, you're voicing support for a military dictatorship, BTW). If you answer 'yes,' to any of these, you must acknowledge that, if those who have never served in the military have a right to involve themselves when it's decided whether or not to go to war, they have the right to take either position.

Just felt the need to comment on the use of 'Chickenhawk.'

Now, to answer your question: Yes. Those members of the administration with no military service in thier backgrounds do need to fess up to the fact that they've failed in the task of leadership they've taken upon themselves, and they should, indeed, step back, give the military a clear objective in Iraq, listen to what the military has to say about how realistic that objecive might be, and, if it's worth trying to accomplish, give them a free hand to accomplish that objective.

because of fact a neo-con is, via definition, one completely lacking honor and character. they had fairly bypass down with the deliver than summon up the braveness required to confess they have been incorrect. So what if some thousand brave individuals die or are wounded to hide their mess ups? No pores and skin off their hen butts. .

No.
You must be talking about the Democrats who screamed at Bush to go after Saddam.
But now, those same Democrats have surrendered to the terrorists.
They must be neo-lib Chickentraitors.

Should make George Soros happy. He bought 1.9 million shares of Halliburton.

No failures to admit to my friend.
You seem to have an abundance of hostility. Perhaps you should consider admitting that you have lost the battle of wills and your hate has taken over your persona.
