It seems to me that most of the answers under this topic are misleading because people are so misunderstood about the real science of astrology! It's a bit frustrating. So is there anybody who is a professional astrologer here? Not just people who think they are.......

i agree completely, but i know that being a professional doesnt make your opinon irrefutable. just as not being a prfessional doesnt mean your opinion should be cast aside.

i have seen really good charts from people who just study it for themselves, and really bad charts from so called professionals.

take EVERYTHING you read with a grain of salt, and ps astrology is not to be lived by, it is just a tool that can be used to better understand yourself and those around you

EDIT> oh but one thing i am absolutely tired of around this section is the people who go to astrology.com and copy and paste their answer into question, passing it off as their own. SOME of us take the time to answer the questions based on our OWN extensive knowledge, oh and a qyestion i have for the cut and pasters> how do you even know that the information you are providing is accurate????

Well, if there were, and I do think some of us have studied for years & years & years as well as offered services, I don't think we'd want to be seen as marketing / soliciting for subsequent consultations as part of our answers.

Yes, seeing what people are asking for input on here is not an easy thing to participate with. The basic concepts of astrology are not even understood that a natal chart is calculated with three factors (birth date, time & place on the plante) and that just the rising, sun and moon are just the beginning of what an astrological consultation works with.

I'm on a sabbatical from an active practice at this time.

Occasionally, they put in appearance. And there are so many self-proclaimed experts - 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20, whatever- I wonder how many of them have any accredation or affiliation with AFA or NCGR or any of the other professional organizations, or have passed their exams in order to claim such? And what professional degrees they actually have? What's really frustrating are the copy and paste kings and queens. A little knowledge in the wrong hands often has bad results. You know, like, Mars in Taurus means.. and beyond what they read on a website or in a book, have no idea what it means, or its house placement or aspect or dwad or decanate, yada, yada, yada. Get into transits, progressions, rectification, horary, diurnal, location, election, deliniation, correlation, etc, and they're cluless. And that's just the beginning. I mean, astrology is so specific you can determine the birth of the wife in her husband's chart, the age of every major event in your life. Having a chart in hand is a powerful tool, for it tells you everything related to your life; whether it's your family, your boss, your boss's homelife, his wife, his kids, your neighbor, your doctor, whatever, just by rotating the wheel. Is my wife cheating on me? Is my kid doing drugs? Will I get the job? Who broke the windshield on my car? Am I going to inherit? All of these questions can be answered by looking at your chart. How do you like to spend your money? Playboy magazines? Swimming pool? Shoes? Is my husband/wife going to be from a foreign country? What's my child's health problem? And then there are specialized branches. Horary, for example, when people want specific answers ro specific questions.
