It matters little. The only difference is that in amsterdam they're more used to tourists. But even in A'dam there are shops that cater for the locals. Try to find one of those and you'll be as well off as you are in Utrecht.

ME! Several times. Dossers and time wasters are not tolerated here as much as 'for instance' Amsterdam, but there are coffee shops. Prices? No idea! Quality? No idea!
Best bet!, get a ******* job, and see the world from outside a puff of smoke.

It's less commercial.Unless you know locals the merchandise is
the same.The place.I liked better then Amsderdam.Probably
because i worked and lived there for over 2 years.It's only a
short train ride to the Dam.But stay away from Rotterdam.A dump,in my opinion.

fux ya the oldest coffeeshop in the world is in Utrecht,(Sarasani) if you go to utrecht you should visit it, theres 2 problems with that shop:
1) hard to find (ask locals)
2) only open after 19.00 hours.

Ive been to Utrecht! Unfortunately I was there on a church thing, we got to see a rehab centre but didnt get to indulge. So I cant help you there lol

im from there! its all the same, its a smaller cleaner amsterdam! big uni town and great bars!!! i highly recommend it, people tend to stick with amsterdam. see more!!
