Concerning your comment about Oil stocks.
I have given that some thought and come to the conclusion that the America people have a feeling of entitlement.
The high price in gas most of us still drive the same as always. People live in one town and commute to another town. Many have big SUVs that take from the Rain Forrest and they drive these vicheals no matter what the price.
We have plenty of oil off our shores to supply us for a very long time. We want to protect our land from oil wells and leaver our land pristien. Nothing wrong with that, except there is a double standard here.......If we don't want to use the oil in the middle east and continue to drive as we do, then we have to expect our troops to get involved in wars.
First we need to be accountable for our own oil on our own land. Secondly we need to find doable alternative affordable
energy We need to stop driving so much. We need to learn to have rapid transit like Europe has and also Chicago and Boston has.
The Democrats voted for the war.
Also I am so sick of hearing about there weren't weapons of mass distruction. Gosh, they had a couple of weeks to get those things out of the country. Also. if the weapons weren't made, they had the things to make them with.
BTW I am neither Deomcrat or Republican.
My defination of supporting our troops means to never make them feel that their sacrifice was in vain. We also need to make sure that the troops coming home injured get the medical help that they need.
I heard that some people have picketted fuernals of those who have died and gosh what disrespect. Our freedom of speach can hurt at times.
I agree we need to get out of Iraq, but we can't leave it in devistation. There will be NO winner. We are all the losers.
We as americans need to stop being two faced with our driving habits and our dislike of our troops fighting in the countries that we get the oil from.
This is simple. Supply our own oil. This will bring jobs for many./ And we need to find other energy so that we don't have to have wars with the countries that supply us the oil.
I would suggest that anyone who reads this and agrees with it to email it to your senator and House of Rep.

I have a son that was in the Air Force and I am a child of the 60's You know "make love not war" I have always been anti anything that has to do with war. But then I have matured and learned that there is a dangerous world out there & it is like a chess game between powers. We need to protect our country and sometimes that cost is in loss of lives. 911 would be a frequet happening if we didn't protect our country. We are spoiled. We are pirvledged. We don't have a clue of what the price has been for our freedom and comforts.
Anyhow, my son was in the Air Force and at first I wasn't happy about it. Then when I went to his graduation at boot camp and also visited where he worked and the quality of young men and women in the Air Force was amazing to me.
After my exposure to the military I think that all Americans should be on their knees thanking our troops for what they do.
Whether or not the war is right or wrong, we are in a troubled world and there are things happening that we have no concept of. We as a nation needs to be united. But, we also have the freedom to say what we want. Many have died for that freedom. So, choose your words wisely becasue we are part of a bigger picture in the world.
I still say "make love not war" but the world, even ours, is corrupted.
I know two women who have lost their sons i the middle east. The price of their lives is huge. They were the cream of the crop . They were handsome and smart and made a choice to join the forces after 911. Then I think about the rifraft in our country and it is sad.

I like B.
C. Troops who are smart enough will be supported by the government because they are allowed college money from the GI Bill, VA loans to buy business and the like, army civilian job preference which will pay them double what any non-military job would pay, etc.

C. I support the Troops because its not their fault that someone can send them into an illegal war. They have more respect from me than any single person in that government and will do for the rest of their lives.
