My sister told me she's having vaginal bleeding, it could just be her period because it's slightly earlier than normal, however the colour (?) is light and the consistency is different (not blood clot like) from her normal menstrual bleeding. What im worried about is might she be bleeding from something?

It's possible this is "irregular shedding" which sometimes occurs before a woman's period. It is considered a cycle irregularity, though, and should be checked out.

It's also possible she's spotting or having implantation bleeding - early pregnancy signs. Could she be pregnant?

First off, how old is your sister and how long has she had a period for (months, years, weeks?)

Clotting can sometimes be normal. Is she getting a lot of cramping with it? Are the clots larger than a nickle? If so, please get her to a doctor today.

Whenever there are clots larger than the size of a nickle, is when you need to see a doc.

Periods can vary... sometimes crampy, light, heavy, spotting, bright red, brownish, etc. An out of wack period every now and then is no concern, UNLESS (again) the clots are bigger than a nickle and the cramps are worse than normal. Especially those two combined.

Depends how long it's been going on. It is probably just an unusual period, but If it continues constant and heavy, yes, I'd worry. Has she been injured or ill?
