Two thoughts, one you have air trapped as mentioned above. Second is the pressure coming into your home is pretty high and you need a water dampening device.....like a shock absorber on your water line.
To eliminate the air:
Turn off the main water shut-off valve. Then turn on cold water faucets on both the sinks closest to the water meter and farthest away from the meter. This drains the cold water line.
After the sinks have stopped dripping, turn off the faucets and turn the main water shut-off valve back on. Now, turn on each of the faucets on all the sinks, showers and bathtubs, then flush all the toilets in the house. Doing this will reestablish the air cushion on your house. It is noisey, lots of spitting.
If this doesn't work you may need a water arrestor (shock absorber).

Sometimes when there is air in the system in can make very loud sounds. This often happens if there has been some plumbing work recently. The cure is to let it run its course, the air has to simply work its way through.

The faucet washer is loose on the stem or the screw that holds it has gone away..Either way pull the bonnet(top) and remove the stem and replace the washer and screw..If the screw is broken off and you can not remove it , you c an buy a new stem or replace the entire unit..

There is a common chance the bibb washer is loose.
If so, it'll won't to long it'll really start leaking.
Is the sound like water hammer? If so, that's probably it.
