You ovulate mid-cycle, so for an average cycle that would be like 2 weeks after the 1st day of your period.

So...about Cycle Day 14 or 15. But that's based on a 28-30 day cycle.

You can tell you're ovulating b/c you'll see clear, stretchy cervial mucus and might feel "wet" down there throughout the day for a few days.

You should get started tracking your cycles. It's good for awareness and also for diagnosis and prevention should there ever be a problem. You'll know right away. A good place for info is:

The standard answer is that is the 14th day, but I've been reading about fertility and every women is different. There are some simple signs that you can go by to figure out when you ovulate. Read up a little on "Natural Family Planning" or "Natural Birth Control". It will show you what you need to do to figure out exactly when you ovulate.

Optimally, assuming you have a normal, regular 28 day cycle, your most likely days for ovulation would be days 13-15 (cyclic mid-line), counting your first bleed day as day 1 of your cycle.

You need to learn to track your cycles, and then you'll know better how long your menstrual cycle is, and where the mid-line would be.

I recommend that you purchase the book "Our Bodies Ourselves" by the Boston Women's Health Collective. Before you even consider trying to conceive & becoming a mother you really need to learn about yourself. I gave this book to both of my daughters when they turned 13 so that they would not have to ask strangers how their bodies work.

Counting from the first day of your period... it is best to start having sex on the 10th night and every other night.

Good luck.
