First we hear, yes he is going off to war to Iraq. Now again, he is being pampered and the media is making it tough for the British Military officials to decide whether or not he is really seeing combat life in Iraq. Hell they don't make this much fuss over our US troops. Our sons and daughters fighting and lying down their lives. Many of the British troops do as well. His father, and uncle and grand father served in the military and fought in the war. Why is he so special? Let him get send. The throne isn't that important now a days any more. What do you say?

He is the same as everyone else in the sense that he went into the army knowing the consequences.
But what you don't seem to be getting is that his royal status and publicity means he is a target for potential kidnap and as a result is a danger to his troops and himself.
In the event of kidnap he can also be used for a ransom and can put Britain into some trouble when it comes to negotiating for his life. It could also make our country seem weak.

Hope that made as much sense to you as it did in my head.
