$100 skiing ticket, $2 off for every person that I bring over 20 people. Ex: 24 people = $8 off. My entire group spent $2442.

Let x be the number of people in total.
Then the cost of the tickets in $ is:
100x - 2(x - 20) = 2442.

I'm not sure this is right as I've been out of school a while but try this... 100n - 2(n-20) = 2442
