You could talk about the security risks involved, or the effect on both the local economy and the economy to which the jobs are outsourced. Or you could look at trends, like how the US was outsourcing lots of jobs to India because they were done cheaper, but then Vietnam undercut India, and now the -stans are even cheaper. In the manufacturing arena, you could look at working conditions for the overseas workers, or the economic zones and how they impact the country's economy.

How about this...countries that we are outsourcing to are countries that failed to industrialize during the industrial revolution for one reason or another, probably because they were getting screwed by Great Britain....sorry, it's the truth... (that means that their money is not worth ****, so by outsourcing their american corporations get rich because they don't have to pay the high wages that they do here. In China I believe the average wal-mart employee makes .35 cents an hour.) Now we are using our resources and hurting our own economy so in the short run we as consumers have cheaper products, but in the long run we are creating a jobless economy in America and making foreign countries rich.
Hopefully that will give you some ideas to help you out. I wrote a paper on the same thing. Research Ford Motor Company's "Way Forward" plan and that might give you some more ideas for your thesis, but I think linking current outsourcing to lack of industrialization during the Industrial Revolution would be interesting as a thesis.
