Does anyone know if there is a kid's section or site like this? My 8 yr. old would enjoy this kind of thing.

Well people, aren't we a little judgemental. I just asked a question, don't need the parenting advice. I think I know how to care for my child. I don't allow him to roam free on the internet. I know all about pervs.

yep, here it is:
use to be called Yahooligans.

http://kids.yahoo.com/ They're question and answer section is not live; they are preset q&a and the ones anyone submit takes a while for to be answered.

Too many weirdos here, if they did come up with a site, I am sure the pervs would slither their way on to the site.

Sadly, no. This is it, I'm afraid. And I would definitely think twice about letting your kid come on here. There's some stuff on here that could make a 30 year old blush!

no a child shouldn't be on sites like this, their only jobs right now on the computer are to play games, and maybe email their friends

there is a kids yahoo, [i see people have given the links to you already.]

IMDB has message boards, which are similar to this, but they can't always be trusted to be appropriate for kids [some swearing and some... references to stuff...]. there are also AOL message boards, usually more tame.
