No, you can have them both. You can even use them both at the same time.

Get a real browser. Get Firefox. Get it here.

I have both Firefox and Internet explorer. Some programs won't work through firefox, so I use the regular internet explorer browser. There is no reason for you to uninstall internet explorer.

no you dont have to uninstall internet explorer. you can install and run firefox with IE on it. its not an "either or" thing. just get both, use both for awhile and see which you prefer.

No. you don't have to uninstall IE, at all. You don't even have to make Firefox your default browser. I use Firefox and keep IE around. I don't use it much, but it behaves better for some, rare form based sites.

You don't have to uninstall Explorer, you can have both.
And if you do decide to uninstall explorer (go ahead, it's crap) you can download it again free all over the place.

Go to www.mozilla.org and try SeaMonkey. I have been playing with it and I think I like it better that FireFox. It also includes mail and newsreader, etc.
