What's wrong with MeMaw? I happen to be very fond of my MeMaw.

There's always Granny, Grandma, GranGran, and a tone of other variations.

Congratulations! I don't even know you, but I am thrilled for you. You're going to love being a grandmother. I am still excited about it and the oldest of my two grandchildren just turned 4.

As soon as I found out that I was to be a grandmother, I just knew that I wanted to be called "Gamma" or "Gammy". I knew that I didn't want to be a Grandma or a Nana as my mother is a Nana to my children.

Well, let me tell you that you will adore whatever the child calls you on his/her own. Even though I thought that I had successfully brain-washed the little one to call me "Gamma",
when he started saying words, he just said "eh, eh" when he wanted me. One day while looking out the window waiting for his Mommy to pick him up, he said car. Frustrated, I told him that if he could say car, maybe he could say my given name "Car-o-lyn" instead of Gamma. He looked at me with his loving toddler eyes and said "Car-Car". I've been "Car-Car" ever since and I love it.

Congratulations! In our family, my grandmother on my father's side was called, "Nana". It's nice and happened to be based on their Old English roots. Good luck!

I like the Greek word for grandma, pronounced Ya yia and grandpa is Pa poo. Also think Nana is cute.

Have the tyke call you Grandma, it is a noble, traditional title, and is accurate. Silly baby names are not for adults...

You are to be respected, not have a cute name like "Elmo" or something...
