i like the song but not the version by elvis, does any one know a more up to date version?

No Elvis Presley never sang the song. Elvis died in 1977, the song wasn't written until 1979. Queen was the original artist and made it into a #1 hit for 4 straight weeks. In 1999, Dwight Yoakam recorded a country version of the song which became featured in a commercial for the Gap clothing store. It peaked at #12 on the country charts.

As far as I know, the son is not performed by Elvis, but by Queen. Here you can see other versions, which are covers of the original song by Queen:
