No Elvis Presley never sang the song. Elvis died in 1977, the song wasn't written until 1979. Queen was the original artist and made it into a #1 hit for 4 straight weeks. In 1999, Dwight Yoakam recorded a country version of the song which became featured in a commercial for the Gap clothing store. It peaked at #12 on the country charts.
