All the experts say to put your newborn on their back, to prevent SIDS [ crib death ]. Turn their head to left or right, alternating, so both sides grow evenly.
After your baby is old enough to turn over his or herself,
[ about four months ] don't worry about it 'cause they'll flip anyway!

Mine is 7 months old. I have always had he sleep on his back. Every now and then I would let him take a nap on his belly. I wish that he would learn to roll over good so that I can put him to sleep on his belly...he had a flat head in the back.

Kids are now 2 1/2 and 1 1/2.
I started on their backs until they were able to flip and sleep on their bellies...around 2-3 months old. I also always had/have blankets in their cribs. I am not a worrier.

She is six months, and when she isn't napping in her rocker. I put her to bed on her back. Now that she rolls like crazy , I tend to find her sleeping on her side. She wakes up when ever she is on her belly so i guess she doesn't like that way. But over all sleeping on the back works best and when they are old enough they will find what position works for them.

My son will be three in June. He slept on his stomach from day one. All the old people say put the babies on their back because if they turn their head and end up with their face flat against the bed they can die. The way i see it is if they are laying on the back and puke they will choke. I think SIDS is a bunch of bull. Instead of taking the time to try and really find out why a baby dies they just say SIDS. They now diagnose adults with SIDS but it has a different name.

I have a 6 year old and a 21 month old girls, and they both slept on their back or sides, until the learned to flip over. I am currently 38 weeks with my 3rd and he will sleep on his back or side, until he learns to flip over on his belly.

my baby is now almost 2 but when she was a baby I used one of those form things to train her to sleep on her sides. I would just alternate sides each night or between feedings.

My son is 14 weeks old and I put him to sleep on his back but sometimes he will roll onto his side. Back sleeping is recommended until they can roll over and back on their own.
