Like to throw out inflammatory statements about the other side without providing links and sources? I see a lot of answers "source please, link please".

Isn't there enough legitimate gripes and complaints for either side to discuss without making things up?

I'd ask for a source.. but all you'd have to do is copy and paste the page that's up in politics right now :P.. but yeah.. people seem to think that baiting, trashing and mud slinging are debating.. why I'm not sure....

With out defending the practice of inflammatory bashing, I would like to state a reason for it. When I have posted questions, open by-partisan questions and I get back responses that are more personal attack then legitimate answer, it gets aggravating. Then I do some thing stupid, like post a question that is childish. Not an excuse, just the reason.

I will challenge you on this as I have done it myself, take posts from politics in general, open the latest 25 questions, then count responses that you are talking about,

you will find the majority of the contemptuousness comes from one side in particular.

takes about 30 minutes or less, I thought as you, but I was in for quite a surprise.

To make it somewhat more than anecdotal, do it say four times in one day, so you get a broader sample of times.

Trolls will be trolls, no matter what insane stance they've taken.
