this guy went around telling people he kicked his fiancee out of his place and the reasons aren't so good, and he called off from work because he misses his girl , why couldn't he keep it to himself and say it was personal business?if people start to talk isn't his fault for sharing?

Finally someone who feels the same as I do. I have always felt it is unprofessional to talk about anything except the lightest of subjects at work. Sure, it's fine to say you went to the ballgame on Sunday and had a great time but not to talk about the fight you and your husband had on Saturday. I think it is a way for people who are highly tribal to 'connect" with each other at work but I find it distracting and I believe it takes away from whatever the common work goal is. I used to work in an environment like this and being reserved amongst a group of people that shared EVERYTHING (and pressured me to) was a horrible experience.

I hate to tell you this but you seem pretty naive about how custody/divorce battles go. They are nasty, they will pull every stop to win and oftentimes women are the losers, especially when they aren't ready for this kind of scrutiny, which is normal. This will go on forever as long as your ex gets the court to grant him the hearings. Women are held to a different standard in our society and court proceedings reflect this. Although things have gotten better, the most prejudicial views are aired in court against either party in an effort to deflect from themselves. I think your lawyer was naive as well or cavalier to have not hammered your ex on cross as well. Why didn't she? I don't know enough here really to make a decision. Now you are learning that the court process is a matter of strategy and its not the nicest one that wins. I won full sole custody of my children during a temporary custody hearing. My ex was a horrible man and if I had not had my attorney cross examine him like a pitbull on crack, the judge would have never known the kind of life I was forced to live with him. Get your attorney to be aggressive next time. Your children's lives are at stake for crying out loud and also consider that unless you can offer up a good answer otherwise, you must be the embodiment of Mother Teresa and Mary Poppins rolled into one or you can be painted into a corner as a drug and drink addled slut. Women' s liberation hasn't changed everything, so get the blinders off. Good luck.

When people have conflicts and strong emotions they need to share by venting and getting sympathy or pity or support. Today the workplace is one of the biggest places to socialize, whether it's meet friends or vent. He's got some real feelings that he wants to reinforce or relieve, so he's using the daytime "cafe" to let everyone know about it instead of just keepin it to himself.

A lot of people do this for the following reasons:
-The need to vent to someone/anyone
-He is probably trying to rationalize going home and probably doesn't want people to think he's playing hookie from work

It sounds as if he's pretty upset, and it probably is best for him to go home since he probably wouldn't be productive at work anyway. When things upset you a lot, it's not always easy to just come to work and let it go.
