You can have post partum bleeding up to 6 weeks after giving birth. I really think it's rare that you would have your first period this soon. Are you nursing? If so, you're pretty much safe, for a little while. You guys may want to use protection from now on. My youngest little guy is proof that the withdrawl method is not fool-proof.
(the doctors advise moms to wait 6 weeks, but that's usually right after the post-partum check. My midwives told me that "If you're feeling up to it, you can get back to chasing your hubby/partner around the bed anytime...it may cause a little more post partum bleeding afterward, but it's not usually that big of a deal.". I was 5 days postpartum with both of mine and had no problem)

Well you could be pregnant again. I was told that your highly likely to get pregnant for the first 6 weeks after you have a kid. I don't know how true this is.but that is just what i was told. and that's why so many women have kids so close in age. I would say you have the same chances of being pregnant again just like any of time of having unprotected sex. I say wait a little bit longer then get a test done to know for sure. Good Luck

I had bleeding for 4-6 weeks after each delivery. If you're breastfeeding you may not get your period back until after the baby has weaned. My doc did warn me that you are most fertile in the 3 months following a pregnancy so she advised to use some type of birth control. A home pregnancy test may help to ease your mind in the mean time.

When my friend had her baby she was told to not have sex for 6 weeks, not sure if it was a medical reason or something else. So if you had it after 3 not sure if you may have torn up something inside or not. If it has not happened since then it probably is nothing to worry about.

I've always heard that you are more fertile after having a baby - not trying to scare you, but you can alwasys make that trip to the drug store.
By the way, don't they advise you to wait 6 wks before partaking in "relations"?
