Hello,
Does anybody know of any endangered animals in the UK which are protected by SSSIs?

If not, do you know any endangered animals which are naturally in the UK ?

Thanks!

There are probably hundreds.

Here's a link listing all the SSSIs, and whether they are biological in nature. You can then follow the links to the biological sites and find out what, specifically, is being protected.

There are quite a few endangered species in the UK, most of which you would not notice or care about. The invertebrates ( insects ,spiders, crustaceans etc. etc.) are not "cool" or cuddly and so do not attract the general publics attention, but they are vital for food chains and for the preservation of animals we care about. For instance there is a tiny fish called the sand eel which is being fished out in the North Sea destroyed to make fish meal to feed chickens, pigs etc. An insignificant loss, until the numbers of Puffins ,Guillemots and other seabirds begin to be decimated because they have lost their food source.
SSSI's are an interesting idea, they are registered sites containing plants or animals of interest, but being an SSSI does not necessarily give an area protection from development and many of them are bulldozed or developed without thought, it is a sad reflection on how we care for our already impoverished environment.
