Miss America pretended to be a 14-year-old girl to catch online sex predators as part of an undercover operation with New York police last week.

Lauren Nelson, crowned Miss America in January, set up an internet profile using photographs of herself when she was a teenager.

The operation resulted in face-to-face meetings with four predators, all caught on film by hidden cameras and now facing the shame of having their arrests broadcast on the popular America’s Most Wanted TV show on Saturday

That's a fantastic idea! It should be done WORLDWIDE! Catch all the pervs out there!

Whatever it takes to stop them is worth trying!
If the person pretending to be young lets the predators suggest the meeting then they can't get claim 'entrapment'!
A few caught that way and the arrests well publicised should at least make others think twice!

I think it's a valid way to catch those people as long as there is real proof the people are predatory - that they are meeting a girl they know is underage with the intention of persuading her to have sex.

Until the people of the UK decide that public humiliation is a good way to punish people I don't think its right to put them on the TV. We have a legal system for punishing people. It might not always work but going above it would be far worse.

Yes it's a very good idea and a local police department in my area has been doing that for a few years and has successfully caught several of those child molesters

yes, totally. I mean, sure it`s kind of provoking it, but this stuff happens all over the place. They deserve to be humiliated.

Yes we should, what a great idea.
Good for her.

Maybe we could all do it and compare how many we catch.
