My friend who is 22 and is in the army...he's going to marry some girl Friday or Saturday and he doesn't even know this girl. I mean...he's been talking to her over the phone for about a month and he has met her once in person. I think she's only going to marry him for his money and he wanted to hurry up and get married cause he's going to Iraq in May. I've told him over and over again that he shouldn't marry her. ****...when they get married..they are only going to get to spend like a week or two with each other then he's gone to Iraq for 15 months. Someone please help me by telling me what to say to him so he doesn't make the biggest mistake in his life.

U should tell him what u think and if u have feelings for him yourself, u should also tell him that. That's really all u can do, it's his life and his decision to make. If your too pushy about it your gonna end up losing his friendship. So just have a nice long convo with him and respect his wishes.

You should tell him that he should wait because he hasn't known her long at all. A month wow thats wayy to soon. If any guy asked me to marry him after one month and all we did was talk on the phone and seen him once I would freak out. I agree with you. She must be using him for the money. He should wait until he get back from Iraq. If she has been loyal and faithful completly then I would consider a promise ring. Nothing more.

It's his decision. If he want's to marry, then let him marry, his mistake to make.

Just not knowing someone that well isn't cause to say don't get married. There are cultures where arranged marriages are everyday occurances, and most of them are very successful marriages.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do other than voice your opinion and let your friend live his life. IF it's a mistake, it's his mistake to make.

Yes, this marriage would be a mistake, but then so are 95% of all other marriages as well.
